Laughing Gull Foundation Announces $1.8 million in Funding to Climate & Environment Organizations in the US South
Grants will support partners as they build power, conduct community-led advocacy and civic engagement, and promote climate and energy solutions to address intersecting crises.
Durham, NC – The Laughing Gull Foundation (LGF) is pleased to announce the approval of $1,800,000 in grants awarded to 25 Climate & Environment organizations in the US South. The grants will fortify the work of frontline organizations to make progress in a region that is leading the way towards a more just, equitable, sustainable future.

This year marks the third year of Climate and Environment program grantmaking for LGF, advancing the organization’s mission to leverage its resources to transform systems, institutions, and relationships for the benefit of people and the planet. Climate and Environment program investments help to amplify broad public support that exists for regional climate action in the US South and advance equitable solutions that can be implemented at the speed and scale needed to avert the worst climate change impacts. In its grantmaking strategy, LGF prioritizes community engagement, capacity-building, advocacy support, and equity-first approaches.
